Prototypes for Sounding Wild's trip to Africa
I have been working on some interesting prototypes for Axel Drioli of Sounding Wild to take to Africa.
Eight of these in a 1m cube array should sound wonderful. Ideal for Dolby Atmos ambiences. Four pointing outwards at ear level plus four pointing upwards for the height speakers.
Three parallel omnidirectional capsules are better than one!
9.5dBA noise floor (84.5dB SNR) and the 50mm wooden ball gives increased directional high frequency and upper mid in front of the microphone plus the typical extended low frequency response of an omni capsule.
Balanced outputs, low cost, high fidelity sound, robust quality, low carbon footprint and sustainable materials.
These prototypes use reclaimed neutrik XLR plugs and beech hardwood balls, all hot melt glued together.
