Eight beautiful quiet capsules, balanced electronics, super high quality cable made in Worthing by LEMO Connectors, shockmount and custom windshielding made in Stroud by Rycote - all packaged in a compact flightcase. Each mic is hand-built in Hackney, East London.

The only thing missing from this picture is the state of the art A-Format to B-Format encoder plugin, custom built for Reynolds Microphones by the amazing team at atmoky.

The A-Type 8 is a hybrid second order A-Format microphone array, designed to be tough and rugged for field use. It’s robustly shielded against interference, while sounding natural and clear with a low noise floor and high sensitivity.

Perfect for 360VR, quiet immersive ambiences and much more.

This is the culmination of many years of prototyping with help from Axel Drioli of Sounding Wild, among others and we are very proud to launch this new product.
